Neenah Bland, Executive Director
As CEO of Albany Community Action Partnership, Neenah Bland ‘s primary responsibility is to champion our mission of moving families towards economic security and an improved quality of life. Ms. Bland is working with her staff and the community to ensure all families are provided with opportunities that support the experiences they need to compete in a global society. Ms. Bland has over 25 years of experience working with children and families in the Albany area. She holds a Master’s Degree in Education from The College of Saint Rose , a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from the University at Albany and a host of experience in the fields of executive management, counseling, group facilitation, program design and development, staff development, cultural diversity and grant writing..
Director of Technology & Energy Services
Tracy is a graduate of the University at Albany with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and holds a Master of Business Administration with concentration in Organizational Psychology and Development from American Inter-Continental University. Although not obvious from the title, in her current capacity Tracy oversees Program Evaluation, Marketing, and Facilities in addition to those of Technology & Energy Services. She has been with Community Action for nearly a decade and has received certification as a ROMA (Results-Oriented Management and Accountability) trainer; a nationally recognized certification designed to provide CAAs and other eligible entities receiving CSBG funding the framework for implementing a performance-based management system of accountability.
Director of Community & Career Services
Jessica DeJesus has been employed with Albany Community Action Partnership (ACAP) since 1998 & is currently the Director for Community & Career Services. Jessica has over 25 years working with nonprofits and specializes in community building & program planning. Jessica is also a graduate of the University at Albany Social Welfare Program as well as a field supervisor for SUNY Albany’s Social Welfare Program, HVCC Human Services department and 2 other local colleges. As a certified Family development credential instructor Jessica embraces the strength based model and has a passion is in knowing that her day to day work benefits not only individuals and families but the community as a whole.
Director of Finance & Administration
Eric Ford is a life-long resident of Albany County and a graduate of the Albany City School system. He is currently the Director for Human Resources, Finance, and Administration at ACAP. His educational background includes a Masters of Arts in Public Administration with a concentration in Public Finance. He has worked in the Public Sector in various Management and Finance positions for over 15 years and has been a part of the community development efforts of various organizations in the City of Albany since 1990. He is dedicated to increasing opportunities to the most vulnerable population through education, workforce development, and family assistance programs that are delivered effectively in the community.
Director of Early Childhood Education
Terry has thirty plus years management and senior management positions with not for profit organizations. He has been the Director of Early Childhood Education with Albany Community Action Partnership since 2008; as well as the Director of Day and Residential programs with Liberty Enterprises for more than 25 years providing services to children and adults with developmental disabilities. Terry has a Master of Arts degree in clinical psychology from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh.
Assistant Director of Community & Career Services
Nikoletta (Niki) was born and raised in the Albany, NY area. After completing her Associates Degree, at Hudson Valley Community College, she continued at Texas Southern University, in Houston Texas, where she completed her Bachelor’s degree in Human Services and Consumer Science, and then a Master’s in Education Administration and Supervision. For over 12 years, Niki followed her passion working for the largest Community Action Agency in Texas. She worked directly with multiple programs, including Head Start/Early Head Start, Workforce Development, Adult Education, Community Outreach, and Food Pantry services. Recently relocating back to the Albany, NY area, she joined the ACAP team as the Assistant Director of Community and Career Services. Niki’s goal is to help improve the communities in the Capital Region, by educating and empowering families to break the cycle of poverty; for customers who are un-served and underserved; and by providing and creating opportunities.
Assistant Director of Early Childhood Education
Nerissa is a native of the city of Albany and graduated from the Albany City School system. She currently is the Assistant Early Childhood Program Director. Her educational background includes a Masters of Science Degree in Education with a concentration in School counseling and a BA in Sociology. She has worked in the education and community service fields for over 25 years, with over 20 of them working for ACAP. She has had experience in the areas of counseling, supervision, group facilitation, compliance, curriculum planning, training, program development and design. Nerissa’s goal is to educate families and her staff. She is dedicated to making education and learning a positive meaning experience that individuals can use and relate to their everyday lives. She accomplishes this through providing positive guidance, access to knowledge and information that will help others make informed decisions and by sharing her own passions and experiences.
