Kindergarten Readiness Expectations
Our Early Childhood Education services support children and their families throughout Albany County. Services are targeted to children and families classified
as: low income, homeless, and foster care; as well as those receiving Public Assistance and Social Security Supplemental Income; children of teen mothers, single parents, and children with a disability are prioritized. Our Early Childhood Education services follow a two generational approach, where the needs of the child and parents/family are addressed. The goal of this approach is for each child to meet or exceed child/educational readiness expectations upon entering
kindergarten and sustain this success through their educational experience. ACAP childhood services operate with strict adherence to a number of licensing and/or
regulatory requirements. These include: NYS Office of Children and Family Services , NYS Department of Education, the Office of Head Start, and the NYS Unified Court System.
