Albany, N.Y., May 10, 2007–

On May 10, 15-20 volunteers from the GE-Plastics Selkirk plant will spend their day at Albany Community Action Partnership (AlbanyCAP) at 333 Sheridan Avenue in Albany, helping to fix up their Outreach Center. The volunteers plan to remove an old playground, build a patio, plant flowers clean and line the parking lot, plant shrubs and paint the doors of the building. This day of volunteering will, not only help prepare AlbanyCAP for the grand opening of its Sheridan Avenue Outreach Center and a Community Block Party on May 17 (3:30-6PM), it will help restore a beautiful historical facility to the West Hill community.

“The GE Community Day is a great partnering opportunity for us,” said Kathleen Cloutier, AlbanyCAP Executive Director, “now we can really look forward to showing off our new Outreach Center next week.”

The GE volunteers will arrive at the Sheridan Avenue facility at 9:30 and both the volunteers and AlbanyCAP’s Executive Director, Kathleen Cloutier will be available for media interviews at that time.
