Albany Community Action Partnership (ACAP) supports the progress of individuals and their families to economic self-sufficiency. Whether someone has only temporarily been out of the job market or is looking to join the workforce for the first time, ACAP offers comprehensive services to support the journey. Our Career Services model is based on a highly structured program of assessment, soft skills training, career readiness training, employment and post-employment services. Our programs are dedicated to providing individuals and families with the right skills and confidence needed to begin a successful career.
Health Profession Opportunity Grants (HPOG) is a partnership program within our Community and Career Services Department that provides specific trainings to qualified individuals interested in the healthcare industry. Working in partnership with Schenectady County Community College, HPOG participants receive various support services to help them enter and advance within the industry over time.
Career Pathways is an integrated program within our Community and Career Services Department and provides specific training and education to our participants interested in a career within one of six growing industries in the Capital Region. The Career Pathways structure is also specifically designed to help each person enter and advance within that specific industry over time.
Dress for Success Albany is an affiliate of Dress for Success Worldwide and provides interview suits, confidence building, and career development to ACAP career services participants and referred women who are transitioning into the workforce.
