Cohoes Food Pantry
ACAP staff in the food pantry
ACAP's Cohoes Food Pantry offers emergency food for residents in the city of Cohoes. Many households are assisted throughout the year when food budgets run short and emergency supplies are needed. In the past year over 2,400 bags of groceries were given out to area residents.
The pantry receives food from the Food Pantries for the Capital District, the Regional Food Bank, and individual donations. Strong support from senior citizens, local churches, schools, businesses and civic organizations helps to keep the shelves stocked.
The rising grocery prices have increased the pantry's expenses while the number of families needing assistance has continued to grow. To learn what you can do to help, please visit the Pantry Support page.
Rising costs have made it difficult for many households to make ends meet. Please visit our Recipes page for a few cost-effective meal ideas to help trim your food budget.
Do you wonder why there are different dates printed on food products? Take a look at the Food Product Dating page for information on what those dates are trying to tell you.
